More than 800 exhibitors will take part in the event held at the Nampo grounds outside Bothaville in the Free State, including a considerable number of overseas companies.

Strydom said while the majority of partaking companies represented the agricultural input sector, their participation had a domino effect as it stimulated companies down the value chain to also exhibit.

“Nampo is the ideal event to do business for producers and suppliers. Not only are potential buyers exposed to the latest technological developments, but they are also afforded the opportunity to make comparisons between the different concerns and the products they supply.  An added bonus is that the Nampo Harvest Day, apart from allowing the exhibitors the opportunity to do business, also helps them to develop major business leads,” he said.

Strydom told Farmer’s Weekly that he expected an outstanding Nampo businesswise, despite the very challenging drought conditions that ravaged the country in 2023/24.

South Africa’s agricultural exports earned R238 billion during the period. The citrus, pome fruit and raisin industries, among others, did exceptionally well as far as exports were concerned.

The Nampo Harvest Day takes place from 14 to 17 May 2024.
